Horcrux 2.0 is a state-level offline hackathon hosted at PES University, RR Campus, a 24-hour chaos-filled creativity fest where developers, designers, and innovators come together to build real solutions that matter. It's all about coding, designing, brainstorming, breaking things, fixing them, and turning wild ideas into reality.

This year's theme, Societal Impact, challenges you to use tech for good; tackling issues like sustainability, education, mental health, accessibility, and women's safety. Whether you're here to learn, experiment, or just vibe with brilliant minds, Horcrux is where you grow, create, and maybe even win big prize pool. What are the official start and end dates/times for the hackathon?

The hackathon will start at 8 am on 1st November 2025 and end by 5 pm on 2nd November 2025.

What is the final deadline for registration and where can we find the form?

The last date to register is 24th October 2025, 11:59 pm. You can find the form on our website and in our Instagram bio.

What are the minimum and maximum allowed team sizes?

Minimum 3 people per team and a maximum of 4 people.

Is it possible to register as a solo participant, and will there be team-forming sessions?

No, solo participants are not allowed, and there won't be any team-forming sessions.

Is the event open to students from all academic years, branches, and colleges?

This is a state-level hackathon. Students from any college across the state of Karnataka can attend.

Are there any specific themes or problem statements we must adhere to?

The theme is Societal Impact. The closer your problem statement is to the theme, the better.

What are the judging criteria for the final project submissions?

There is a rubric that the judges will use for scoring, which will determine the winners.

Do participants need to have advanced coding skills, or is the event beginner-friendly?

LLMs can be used, making the hackathon beginner-friendly.

Will mentors be available on-site to provide guidance and technical support?

Yes, we will have multiple technical mentors available to help participants with any queries.

Do participants need to bring their own laptops and any specific hardware/software?

Yes, participants have to bring their own hardware and software.

Will essentials like food, beverages, and Wi-Fi be provided at the venue?

Yes, essentials will be provided.

How does the event format work—are there multiple rounds or any mid-event eliminations?

We will have multiple tech review rounds, followed by a final review after which the top 10 teams will be shortlisted.

What is the prize pool, and how many winning positions are there?

Details regarding the prize pool and winning positions will be updated soon.

Will all participants receive a certificate of participation?

Yes, all participants will receive a participation certificate.

What is the exact venue and are there any accommodation arrangements for a multi-day event?
